In memory of Jacques Slik
Today (August 27th) the Shakespeare Festival lost another treasured member. Mr. Jacques Slik passed away this morning. He was brave, kind, generous and feisty. We will never forget Jac, when dressed as the homeless soothsayer, was given $4 by an audience member when he was waiting to start the play. When the audience member realized his mistake Jac laughed and gave the fellow back his money. Jac found this quite funny. We will remember him fondly.
In Memory of Alan Venn
We are sad to report that we lost another friend this season. Alan Venn was a lovely man, most recently in our last production of Hamlet, but stretching all the way back to 2004 in Loves Labour Lost. He was a kind and generous performer. Many of you may also remember his turn as Francis Flute/Thisbe in the Langham Court production of Midsummer Night's Dream. --Alan will be deeply missed by the Festival.
In Memory of Ted Phythian
On August 10th at 8am the Shakespeare Festival lost a good friend and colleague, Ted Phythian. It is difficult to lose one of our own, but we are so grateful to have had him with us on stage to the end. Ted added a depth and presence to our productions that is irreplaceable. To all of Ted’s family and friends we want you to know that our thoughts are with you now.
